Holland hosts an annual “Tulip Rally”! Six days, 2,500km across Europe, only cars built before 1972 can enter. It’s been running since 1949.

Could you enter new cars until ‘73?

I guess?
Specifically, it has to have a build date before 1/1/1972.

. Wanna go some time after I am able to get a 100-6? Maybe they allow continuation models and you could bring the Sunchaser to Europe.
Website
shows no participants that are over 1971.... Shit

The registration rules make no mention of continuations. It’s pretty strict, they go by build date rather than model year. If you want to enter a car that was first registered after the cutoff you have to show papers proving it was manufactured before 1972.

Looking at the list of winners and their cars on wikipedia it appears to have been run as some kind of stage rally until 1992. Lots of the best rally cars of the day won the event before 1992 and this archived article mentions it along with Rally Monte Carlo and the Tour de Course (it also appears that it used some strange method of calculating results where results for each stage was determined based on how you performed relative to the classes around you instead of raw time). It appears to have been known for long transit distances compared to stage distance. It became a historic rally for 1992.

Hmmm, I couldn’t find it, but that is ok. I could buy my 100-6 and someone else could drive my ‘69 Sprite

also... thats the spot where kid me met all the cars from the tulip rally bout 25 years ago..... forgot the name of the rally.. will never forget the cars.
